The community centre of Maona Village, Wuzhishan City, Hainan Province

Abstract:

The community centre of Maona Village, Wuzhishan City, Hainan Province, is part of the rural revitalisation project. Its total floor area is about 2,000 square metres. The community centre adopts bamboo structure, with units abstracted from the traditional boat houses of the Li people. Architecture integrated with the landscape design, forms an overall undulating boat-tent form among the  rainforest plants. The viewing platform provides a view of the village the distant Mountain. The raised roof is designed with skylights for natural light and the cascading roof structure facilitates natural ventilation, providing multifunctional spaces for villagers and tourists.The walls of the building are made of imitation mud finish from local red soil. The floor is paved with red volcanic rock gravel, arranged in a characteristic pattern of the Li People, fully demonstrating 

the regional cultural. The model is the No.3 Bamboo Hall.
